Practical Information

From the church in Gornja Vijaka the road becomes a dirt one and quite bad, but everyone drives there. It's a short stretch but with big elevation gain, 730 meters. Half way up we hit a nice Croat village Ivančevo and asphalt again. There is one water source near the road, but also people who live in the village. After a short downhill we reach Zvijezda hamlet. There's a possibility to sleep on a farm in Zvijezda, but we first need to inquire about it – it'll cost something. The option we have for sure is Restaurant Kugla, around 3 km further down to Vareš, with rooms going for 60 KM (30 euros) and there could be four beds per a room – two rooms in total. The restaurant offers heating, a shower and a fridge, as well as breakfast if we’re interested.
